Bathroom tiling & waterproofing
Wall and floor tiling with proper waterproofing underneath.
Living rooms, bedrooms and drawing rooms, laid flat and level.
Floor tiling looks simple until the light hits it from the side. Any dip, any lippage between two tiles, any grout line that drifts a few millimetres — it all shows. That is why we spend as much time on the surface underneath as on the tiles themselves.
Before a single tile is laid we check the floor for level, fill low spots and, where the existing screed is uneven, lay a fresh levelling bed. Tiles are then dry-laid first so the cut tiles land where they are least visible, usually against the wall that furniture sits on rather than the doorway you walk through.
We use levelling clips on large-format tiles so adjacent edges set flush, and we check grout spacing along every run rather than tile-by-tile, which is how gaps slowly widen across a room.
An average 12x14 bedroom takes one to two days for laying, plus a day before grouting so the adhesive cures properly. We confirm exact timing at the site visit and stick to it.
Sometimes, if the existing floor is sound, flat and well-bonded. More often it is better to lift it, because tiling over a hollow or lifting floor means the new tiles fail the same way. We check and tell you honestly which applies.
You can buy the tiles yourself or we can arrange them at market rate. We help you calculate quantity including wastage so you do not run short mid-job, which is the most common problem when a batch sells out.
