Floor tiling
Living rooms, bedrooms and drawing rooms, laid flat and level.
Floor and backsplash tiling that handles heat, oil and daily wear.
A kitchen floor takes more abuse than any other surface in a Pakistani home — heat, oil, dropped steel pots, and daily washing. The tile choice matters as much as the fitting.
We steer people towards a matte or textured porcelain for kitchen floors rather than high-gloss, because gloss becomes genuinely dangerous underfoot the moment oil or water lands on it.
For the backsplash, we seal the junction where tile meets worktop with silicone rather than grout, since grout there cracks as the counter flexes and then lets water into the cabinet below.
Matte or textured porcelain with a decent slip rating. Glossy tiles look good in a showroom and become a hazard in a working kitchen.
Cement grout will discolour over time in a kitchen. Epoxy grout resists it almost completely, which is why we suggest it for the backsplash behind the stove specifically.
